Lex HSC members put together an amazing Day of the Dead Celebration! We had pan muerto and every grade came to listen and learned about the altar.
At the Lex Student Assembly, three Lex Spanish Club students announced the kick-off lunch event with a Día de los Muertos presentation. "The Day of the Dead, is actually known for the CELEBRATION OF LIFE and honoring our ancestors.", said Isadora, a 5th grade club member. Her fellow club members, Nathan and Taylor, followed by explaining symbols and significance of the tradition such as the skull and photos to remember loved ones who have died. They explained that the ofrendas incorporated items that represent those individuals and what they loved, from photos and flowers to candles and their favorite meals.
